About Me

In order to understand me and the work I enjoy doing with clients, you have to understand something about my “coming out” experience. For me, “coming out” and owning my identity as a queer person was a pivital moment; one which initiated a domino effect of liberating life experiences. I come from a deeply conservative, religious background and it took me many years to develop the courage to question the rules and norms I had been imbued with. Once I began to question my internalized religiosity, I was then able to question many other intersecting systems of power and control which I had internalized, such as hetero-patriachry, white supremacy, and capitalism. The more I understood the ways these power structures seeped into my cultural, familial, and personal life, the more I strove to “come out” - with the support of others - from the internalized limitations they imposed upon me. This liberatory work is an ongoing one; one I am sure will last a lifetime. But the more I strive to decolonize my mind and heart, the more I want to support others in doing the same. I consider myself a fellow journeyer, not an expert; someone who can provide support and guidance, not directives and certainty. If you want to join me in the work of healing and liberation, let’s connect. I’d be happy to explore if we are a good fit in working together.
